Doggie Training Classes

The Doggie Trainers is the “well-mannered division of The Doggie Walkers”, and was formerly known as A Dog’s World Dog Training. The Doggie Trainers is devoted to dogs and their relationship with their humans. We believe by helping improve the human-canine relationship, we play a small part in keeping doggies out of shelters, and in forever-homes.

The Doggie Trainers uses 100% positive training methods, including Clicker Training. Positive reinforcement clicker training teaches your dog the dog-friendly way. Positive reinforcement training is a fun way of relating to your dog that fosters a partnership that is reinforcing and pleasurable for both you and your dog. Traditional "jerk and praise" methods are not used here. No pinch/prong collars or choke collars are needed or even allowed in class.  Do these other methods work? Yes, but if you can get the same results or better by being nice to your dog, why wouldn’t you “chewz” the kinder method? We use praise, treats, and toys to teach your dog to do what you ask because it is rewarding.  Another benefit--You will have more fun training your dog when your dog is having a good time!

Clicker training works with all breeds, all ages, all types of dogs, purebred and rescue, champions and house companions. Did you know they teach dolphins with Clicker training? Basic obedience, good manners and fun games can be easily taught even in busy family households.

The Doggie Trainers offers a variety of group classes to address a wide range of training needs. We keep our classes small so that there is plenty of time for your questions and individual attention from your trainer. Our dog trainers are not only knowledgeable in their field, but are kind, patient, and passionate about dogs.

All classes require that the dogs and Puppies be CURRENT ON THEIR VACCINES. This is to keep all doggies safe in the classroom environment. We do require that you bring a copy of your dogs' records so that we may keep them on file. This includes Rabies, Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parainfluenza, Parvo, Corona and Bordatella vaccines (within the past 6 months).

You must have these records with you the first night of class. No Records...No participation in class.

Don’t be shy! “Pawsitively” call us if you are interested in a class that is not currently on the schedule. When we have a few people interested in the same class, we often add it to our schedule! More positive reinforcement!

* No Dog Night (for Basic I Obedience only):
No Dogs are present on the first night for several reasons. The most important is the safety of all attending the class. In a basic class there can be a huge range of dogs with varying skill levels. We just want to be sure that none of the dogs are aggressive or if they are we will discuss how to handle the situation. We also discuss safety issues in the class for both the owners and the dogs. Secondly, it is much easier to discuss solutions to problem behaviors without having to yell over the dogs. Thirdly clicker training requires a little bit of an explanantion so all the owners' attention is needed. Owners, see you the first night. Dogs, see you week 2.

PLEASE NOTE: After registering and attending the Orientation, only 50% refund will be granted should you choose to discontinue attending classes and request a refund. Any attendance after Orientation, no refunds will be granted.

  Important Class Information:
Classes with an * have HUMANS ONLY at the first class! This is an orientation class so that we can discuss safety issues, solutions for problem behaviors, and introduce you to the theory and methods behind clicker training. This information is more easily communicated if you are not distracted by a group of untrained doggies! We need all of your attention so that you are well prepared for the next class with your dog.

ALL Classes: Please bring proof of vaccinations to your very first class! No records, no attendance—sorry!
